Nogales Super Championship!

The San Marcos Royals were in Nogales California this past weekend and 3 of 6 wrestlers advanced to the 2nd day of competition. Heavy weight Anthony Hernandez battled his way to the medal stand and placed 7th in the tournament that hosted over 50 southern California teams.

Ventura County JV Championships!

2016 Ventura Couty JV Championships- The Royals arrived ready to battle. Junior Ash Allen started his day with a close loss but battled back to win the consolation championship. Both of Royals heavy weights Miguel Alaniz and Michael Lynk wrestled themselves to the medal stand at Saturday's event. The two Joseph's (Carbajal and Lucero) had awesome days but it was Joseph Carbajal who earned a spot into the Championship Finals. Placing 2nd for the Royals was Carbajal's best placing of his season. The Royals next wrestle Ventura High at HOME Thursday night at 5:00PM and 7:00pm. Hope to see you there!

Former Royals Wrestler and Football player Alex Mack is preparing for his 5th season with the NFL's Cleveland Browns. Mack, was named to the NFL's Pro Bowl 2011, 2012. Mack's highlight of the season had to be the Touchdown he scored in the last minutes of the game. On the AFC's last possession, Alex Mack receives a lateral from a receiver and bulled his way down the field for a touchdown. AWESOME AND CONGRATULATIONS ALEX! Alex is 6'4" and is weighing in at 311lbs. Last Summer Alex came into the wrestling room and worked with some of the kids on switches, one of Alex's signature moves.

Former Royals wrestler Zack Belway wrestled and Graduated from Yale University with a degree in Engineering. While on the wrestling team, Zach was appointed wrestler/Head Coach in his final season at Yale. We congratulate you on your accomplishments Zach and we wish you a bright future!

Former Royals wrestler Justin Whitten had a great Sophomore year at Fresno City College helping the Rams win the 2011 Junior College State Title while earning All American honors for 197lb grappler.  Justin's commitment to the sport of wrestling and academics has earned him a spot on the Missouri Baptist University Wrestling team. Justin is a Redshirt Sophomore this year but plans on making his mark next year for the Spartans. Good luck Justin!
